Silk Museum by Tony Snowball

Visiting Paradise Mill at the Silk Museum I was impressed by the fragility of the silk threads used to make the Jacquard fabrics.

It was the fabric which was being consumed by the magnificence of the loom itself which attracted me to produce this painting.

I chose watercolours as they allow me the delicacy of touch whilst also offering the opportunity to capture the highlights 

and shadows.
