Silk Museum by Bridget Bowie

Mostly my practice focuses on significant objects, loss and associated memories. This work is in response to a visit to Paradise Mill. It is not a literal representation, but a personal reaction to the space filled with unwritten memories and many, mostly forgotten, personal stories. It started as a loose drawing from one of the looms, which developed into a paper ‘plate’ to monoprint onto silk. I added detail with acrylic paint and stitch.
